Navigation through gestures on Chrome: Google is testing the new feature

Google is testing a new feature that provides navigation through the gesture. The video shows the new use still in the experimental phase and not suitable for everyone.

A gradual process has led to an ever larger screen area on our smartphones; the same process has tried to optimize this glass surface by implementing the gesture, or gestures that allow us to navigate the applications on our phones.

Most companies have included these gestures on their smartphones, but some have preferred the classic navigation bar. Google is one of the few that has not yet taken the step forward, but wanted to improve the navigation bar by updating to Android Pie. This goes to remove space that could be exploited in a better way.

We do not know why the Mountain View company did not want to add gesture, but probably has other projects in mind that start from the famous Google Chrome browser. Recently, an online video appeared showing a navigation via gesture on Chrome; from the images, we can see that gestures are made with the finger that, from left to right, bring back, instead from right to left they carry forward.

The feature is available in beta mode via Chrome Canary, an experimental branch of Chrome: just add the #enable-gesture-navigation flag in the address bar and restart the broswer (on Andoid only), to test the function. There is no information regarding the possibility of extending the gesture even on Chrome, we will see in a few months what decision will be taken by Google.
