Panasonic Lumix GH5S: Miniature digital camera.

With the launch of the Lumix G9, Panasonic has decided to forge the streets of its mirrorless flagships clearly and now the move unveiled here in Las Vegas at CES 2018 confirms the direction taken at that time.
The new Lumix GH5S is a product that is addressed even more than the previous ones to those who make videos. Now at the top of the range of Lumix products, we find G9, dedicated especially to those who make photography, and GH5S, optimized for the needs of video makers.
The core of the system is the Venus Engine 10 processor and the new 10.2 megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor, which integrates the Dual Native ISO technology used before only on professional and broadcast digital cameras.
This is based on two different sensor read-out circuits, which read the information differently and offer two different reading sensitivities (400 and 2500 ISO) without going through the amplification.
The first mode gives the possibility to move (then playing on amplification) between 160 and 640 ISO maximizing the dynamic range, while the second registers between 800 and 51,200 ISO reducing noise to a minimum.
The size of the sensor is also particular, larger than the usual Quattro Terzi format and defined as Multiformat, with dimensions studied in order to make the most of the optic coverage circle in the different formats 4:3,17:9,16:9 and 3:2.

Panasonic LUMIX GH5S also offers 4K HDR support with Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG). It also features LUT V-LogL and Rec.709 to correctly reproduce the contents recorded in those color spaces on the camera display. Other LUTs can be installed using the .VLT Varicam format.
For autofocus we find the proven DFD technology (Depth From Defocus) and do not miss the chance to take pictures in 14-bit RAW format and to use the 4K PHOTO function. Made of magnesium alloy, the camera offers resistance to dust and splash water and can operate at temperatures down to -10°C. At the level of wireless connections we find both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
