(R)evolves – a defense game for free on iOS by the authors of Worms

(R)evolves is a game developed by Team17 in just 48 hours, well known to workers in the games industry for Worms. Winner of the Great British Game Jam, the title is available for free for iOS. You download it directly from here.

Team17 is a name known to all fans of video games, since it certainly evokes the name of Worms, a game historian, whose roots date back to 1995 and whose tradition continues to churn out new products even on iOS platforms.

From the same promising development team arrives in the App Store (R) evolves, a bizarre game of defense and simple in mechanical, available free for iPhone and iPad, developed in just 48 hours.

It is, more precisely, an endless game where the player must defend your planet from the continuous rain of meteorites. On the surface of the mysterious planet grow, occasionally, small plants to be protected, they will start to fire automatically. Meteorites can, indeed must, hitting the planet’s surface, but they cannot hit the small plants, otherwise game over.

Through simple tap on the right and left of the screen you can rotate the planet, so as to bring the meteor to shower with the circumference of the planet which did not include the alien plants. These will begin to fire automatically, but will be difficult to eradicate the meteor shower with laser beams, so that it will not rotate continuously the planet and to avoid, as far as possible, the collision between the big rocks and alien plants.

(R)evolves is a title of Worms certainly less complex and that has nothing to do with the battles between vermicelli Team17, since instead of a small hobby free and immediate, the increasing difficulty which will push the player to repeat several times the attempt to achieve a score increasing.

The simplicity of the game, the rest is justified by the fact that it is a title designed entirely in just 48 hours, reason for which the development team certainly deserves praise. Even more impressive, then, the result obtained by the developers, if you think that this title has also managed to triumph at the Great British Game Jam.
