Android 6.0 Marshmallow available for Nexus devices: Download link

It is now available to the public Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the latest version of the operating system of the green robot. Compatible with Nexus 5, 6, 7 (2013), 9 and Nexus Player, the release is available via OTA and factory image.

Google started the process of distribution of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, starting of course from Nexus devices. This is the version that will be available Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, and that will be released on some older members of the family of devices: Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 on 2013, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. Android 6.0 is available via OTA and via factory image.

Google has announced the release on the official blog, remembering the news. Among these we cite Now on Tap, which allows you to receive relevant information on the contents of each screen of the operating system and to process them. If it finds the name of a movie tells us some details on the same film and that is projected, if it finds instead an appointment allows us to quickly add on the calendar. Marshmallow is also exclusive of Doze, new function for energy saving.

Doze increases dramatically, according to Google, the battery life on a standby device. The operating system also runs more efficiently background applications with App Standby, a state of ” deep sleep ” for the app to work extremely small. Android 6.0 Marshmallow also introduces support for the sensors to scan fingerprint and new privacy settings.

More information can be found here on the official website. The update should arrive in a few days on all Nexus devices compatible. The roll-out will occur automatically through the protocol OTA (over-the-air) owner, as incremental update, while those who do not want to wait can download the factory image and install the new version from scratch with the procedure described by Google.
