How to make a copy of computer data easily

Computers nowadays have become part of everyone’s life, and all our documents, photos, videos and other important files are stored in it. However, it could happen a failure of our computer that could lead to the loss of all our data and in some cases, especially if the lost files are work documents, the damage could also be great.

For this reason, it is essential to be able to make a copy of all your files or at least the most important ones, in this way we will avoid losing them in case of PC failure.

In the next steps of this guide, in particular, we will see how to make a copy of our computer data correctly using a very simple and affordable way for everyone.

Click on ” back up your computer. “

To backup your computer, with any operating system, we need to go to: Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Back up your computer. Now click on ” run computer backup “, we will be asked to authorize the action to continue, click on Next, now Windows will search for a device to save the backup. The backup can be done on an external drive, internal disk or CD/DVD.

Click on the ” Start backup ” button

After choosing where to save the backup copy, click on the ” Next ” button. Now a window will appear where there is a summary of what the computer will do, at the top it will show you where it will save the copy and how much space it will use, in case we use CD/DVD it will show us how many it takes, at the bottom it will show the unit it will be backed up in.

At this point, we click on the ” Start backup ” button, and the backup will start automatically, once finished end: if we have chosen to backup to CD/DVD, Windows will warn us to insert the next disc.

Click on ” Restore file “

Once the backup is finished, we will have secured the computer data. Now we can, by going into the settings, decide to start the backup every few days automatically from the computer, but remember to connect an external drive to day the backup starts.

If we want to restore the data saved through the backup, just go back to: Start -> Control panel -> System and maintenance -> Back up the computer, click on ” Restore file ” and follow the procedure of file restoration.

Note : if we use CD/ DVD to back up, it is better to number them to remember the order in case of recovery.
