How to speed up your Mac Startup

Do you have a Mac that takes too long to boot when you turn it on? Here’s how to solve the problem in a simple and free.

There are many applications that promise to speed up boot, but they are not always secure and sometimes threaten to harm your computer. Today I present to you how to start your computer in a fast and secure.

1.) If you just turn on your Mac, it remains for several seconds with the white screen appears without the apple, it is because you are looking for a boot disk because it is not selected. If this does not happen to go directly to step two, otherwise you have to go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and make sure the padlock at the bottom left is unlocked, otherwise click on it and enter the username and password of an administrator. Then click on the top left on the startup disk when it says that ” MAC OS X 10.xx ” (the name varies for each Mac). Now the boot will be faster. Let’s go to step two in order to improve the performance yet.

2.) Now go to System Preferences > Users Groups > Login Items, and we raise the checkmark in all entries. This disables the applications that start at power up. You can disable them all, and I will explain later why.

3.) This step is valid provided that all Macs have the App Store. Go to this link and download the application ” Delay Start ” . Its operation is very simple: we can choose which applications to start after a certain number of seconds. We choose the app that you want to initiate late when we turn on the computer (eg Skype) clicking on the button. In this way, the Mac once turned on will not have to do too many things at once and will not suffer delays. It takes about 10 seconds late ..

4.) Now try to restart your Mac If you have done well the three steps should be much faster to boot. If you do not notice too much difference yet here comes some good advice: keep-less desktop with icons possible-keep your disk clean: have fewer files to can definitely help our beloved terminal to be more agile-always update the application: I know it sounds trivial, but it is very important given that they always tend to improve and consume fewer resources.
