Huawei Mate 8: 6-inch with Kirin 950 and Battery 4000 mAh

Huawei has lifted the veil from the new Huawei Mate 8 phablet screen very large hardware components with high-level.

Huawei Mate 8 is the successor to Ascend Mate 7, one of the most successful manufacturer. It is the first device of the company to use the SoC Kirin 950, the latest model among those designed by the same Huawei. It is based on an eight-core configuration divided into two CPU quad-core Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A53 2.3 GHz and 1.8 GHz respectively.

The integrated GPU is a Mali-T880MP4, while it will launch two versions of the device: one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, the other with 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage.

As announced by the many rumors that have anticipated the presentation event, Huawei Mate 8 adopts a 6-inch IPS LCD display with full HD resolution, then 1,080×1,920 pixels. Nothing Quad HD, a choice that makes sense anyway: Huawei Mate 8 will be met with the next-generation devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or with the Exynos 8890 that will particularly powerful GPU, then a lower video resolution will allow Kirin 950 to compete on an equal footing in terms of performance with the next competing devices.

The smartphone is dual-SIM and has support for a microSD, but the expansion of the internal memory will have to be sacrificed for a possible second SIM slot (Nanosim are supported). Definitely interesting the battery 4,000 mAh that should allow an increase in the operational independence of single charge of 30% compared to the already excellent Mate 7.

Huawei Mate 8 has a biometric sensor for fingerprint scanning placed along the rear shroud and the connector for charging it is a traditional micro USB 2.0. No USB Type-C, then.

On paper particularly effective the photographic industry: the rear module uses a Sony IMX298 sensor 1/2.8″ and 16 megapixels (the pixels are 1.12 microns) with auto-focus phase detection and lens system with opening Aperture f/2.0 optically stabilized. On the front we find a form to 8 megapixels.

On the aesthetic level, Huawei Mate 8 uses an aluminum monocoque slightly rounded behind in order to improve the handle and decrease the thickness at the edges. The front glass panel is instead a 2.5D with rounded corners, while the frames are particularly tight in size, though not so clearly as in render its publicly available. The smartphone comes with Android 6.0 natively Marshmallow, custom course with the Emotion UI 4.0 owner.

Huawei Mate 8 will be available initially only in China from the first quarter of 2016, and will be shown in more detail during the CES in Las Vegas. Availability in other markets and prices have not yet been formalized.
