ASUS Fonepad 7 – Review

For about 10 days we have here in the drafting ASUS Fonepad 7. I was very interested to try this product, new in its kind because it is a tablet like all the others, since it is also able to call. Yeah, because this is the peculiarity of Asus Fonepad 7. Helpful? Definitely yes. But do not forget about the product itself, or a tablet. The look is nothing exceptional, as well as the display. It is a good low-cost tablet, nothing more. But let us proceed in order.

ASUS Fonepad 7 – Design

The shape I do not mind at all, but we thought the materials and thickness to ruin everything. The plastic used is stiff, compact, but it’s still plastic, while the thickness is certainly not worthy of the most advanced tablet. We speak of 10.5 millimeters thick, a bit too much considering that it is a tablet, so with a large surface area to be exploited for the internal components. The rear texture typical of ASUS, namely the concentric circles, it is not as visible as on the Zenbook. Obviously, the plastic has impacted negatively in this regard.

ASUS Fonepad 7 – Display and Hardware

I was disappointed in the display part. Taking into consideration that it is a low-cost tablet, a WXGA IPS displays having a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels can also be fine. Being a lover (perhaps a real patient) of perfection, I expected a little more. As for the rest of the hardware equipment, the Intel Atom processor Z2560 Dual-Core 1.6 GHz ensures good performance. We are certainly not at the levels of the Samsung tablet or Apple, but also with 1 GB of RAM this Asus Fonepad 7 is able to seamlessly support Android 4.3 and the majority of applications, such as games. The internal memory varies. We find in trade patterns from 8/16/32 GB.

The battery present in this Asus Fonepad 7 fails to secure more or less 10 hours. If you are connected under 3G network, you can even get to 840 hours standby time, 28 hours talk time. The data network (Micro SIM) significantly affects battery life, but also be able to receive calls on their Fonepad is a convenience that few tablets provide.

Fitting this camera of Asus Fonepad 7 provides a 5 megapixel rear chamber with Auto focus, capable of recording video at 1080p. Instead, there is a double front 1.2 megapixel capable of recording video at 720p. Regarding connectivity are Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n and of course, the data network UMTS, WCDMA and EDGE / GSM.
