Panasonic introduces new Toughpad FZ-M1

It is now available in our country on the world’s first fully rugged tablet 7 inches with Windows 8.1 Pro without a fan, powered by the Intel Core i5 vPro 4th generation. At a time when the segment of the 7 ” tablet with a rapidly expanding, Panasonic has decided to combine the mobility and flexibility of the pocket-sized form factor with its typical rugged design-oriented business, to create the 7-inch tablet thinner and light on the market today: the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1.

Designed for mobile workers of every type and sector, the Toughpad FZ-M1 is also suitable to replace, as most flexible and powerful, rugged PDA devices now used in logistics, transport services, retail, manufacturing and the government services and emergency services.

The fanless design of the Toughpad FZ-M1 is made possible thanks to the power of the processor 4th Generation Intel ® CoreTM i5-4302Y vProTM. This powerful new processor belongs to the family Intel ® CoreTM i5 CPU and offers exceptional performance coupled with very low power consumption of only 4.5 watts (compared to the normal 15 Watt) keeping heat generation to a minimum. The Toughpad FZ-M1 is equipped with 4GB of RAM (8GB optional) and 128GB SSD (256GB optional).

In addition, a lite version of the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1, equipped with the latest Intel Celeron processor will be available by mid-2014. The lite version contains the Windows operating system 8.1.

With a weight of only 540g and a thickness of 18mm, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 is extremely flexible with its door configuration, and the expansion module integrated business. The device can be configured to exactly meet the needs of business and transformed from tablets to a mobile device for vertical applications. The integrated configurable options include 4G/LTE mobile broadband, GPS antenna and pass trough for vehicles.

The options in the form of integrated business expansion include: Mini-Serial, LAN, NFC, smart card reader, 1D/2D barcode reader, RFID UHF and battery with hot-swap ability. The Toughpad FZ-M1 offers a standard full-size USB 3.0 port, Micro SD, Headphone, DC-In and microSIM.

Offering wider viewing angles, glass-reinforced, high-contrast ratio and high brightness of 500cd / m², coupled with a Panasonic anti-reflection coating, the screen resolution WXGA (1280 × 800) is specifically built for operation in any lighting condition with capacitive touch screen with ten fingers.

The Toughpad family is in conformity with the standards of durability and use of a typical product lines of fully rugged Panasonic Toughbook. The Toughpad FZ-M1 was tested for falls from 150 cm and certifies with IP65 rating for dust and water infiltration, while ensuring the effective functioning in a temperature range between -10 and 50° C.

Thanks to the integrated technology for battery savings – such as the ambient light sensor – the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 can work for 8 hours with a replaceable battery charge time of two hours. For those who need to work longer, a hot-swap battery can be configured according to the options of doors available.

For users who require, tools conference live or video-capture photographic images of documentation in the field, FZ-M1 is equipped with a 2 megapixel front facing camera with microphone stereo and 5-megapixel rear camera. An additional 8-megapixel rear camera is available as an option.

Built for the present but with an eye to the future, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 is optimized for connectivity at any location and includes the optional Gobi 5000 module to connect 4G/LTE, as well as Bluetooth ® v4.0 and Wireless LAN.

The connector optional dual antenna pass-through lets you transfer the wireless connectivity of the vehicles to dock to deliver advanced wireless performance and more stable. By using the desktop cradle, FZ-M1 has the flexibility to become a complete desktop workstation.

The operating system Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro allows enterprise customers to benefit from the latest improvements in functionality and user benefits for enterprises guaranteed by the operating system Windows 8.1 Pro is also available option Windows 7.
